Creative Writing Professor Janice N. Harrington has been awarded a 2020 Guggenheim Fellowship in Poetry.

Professor Harrington is one of 175 exceptional writers, scholars, artists, and scientists chosen from a group of almost 3,000 applicants in the Foundation’s ninety-sixth competition.

Guggenheim Fellowships have been awarded since 1925 by the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation to people “who have already demonstrated exceptional capacity for productive scholarship or exceptional creative ability in the arts,” according to the Foundation’s website.
