Based upon his work experience, Bruce conceives of writing as an action; that is to say, he privileges the activities of writing (over a writer's "final" product ) in the contexts of writing instruction. In sum, relative to learning how to write, the quality and nature of a text is a consequence of the writer doing.
Since the 1970s, Bruce has earned a living as a paramedic/firefighter, an accountant (local, regional, and corporate), an operations manager, a software-development supervisor, a general manager of a non-profit telecommunications company, a technical writer, and a consultant.
